चूंकि यह प्रतीकात्मक विवाह होता है तो इसके लिए पीपल का छोटा पौधा भी उपयोग में लाया जा
सकता है। परंतु ध्यान रहे कि कई बार अश्वत्थ विवाह केले, तुलसी, बेर आदि के पेड़ से भी
करवाएं जाते हैं, जो शास्त्रसम्मत नहीं हैं।
